Super DC-3 Plane Wreck in Southern Iceland

In 1973 this military version of the Douglas DC3 (C47 Skymaster) ran out of fuel and crashed on the south coast of Iceland. All crew members survived the "hard landing".

Time, vandals and the elements have all taken a toll on the wreck, leaving this unusual and very photogenic structure on the "lunar" looking surface along Iceland's southern coast.
